Of course, most of them  only happen in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.entrepreneur.com\/article\/234129\">larger companies<\/a>,  but some are even applicable to smaller businesses. Keep on reading to  find out what you should avoid doing in your relationship with your  employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Not listening<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Having a managing position automatically means that you become a \nfigure of authority for certain people and you have the responsibility \nto make sure that their activity is productive for the company. This \nmeans that you get to tell people what to do and when to do it, you get \nto delegate and decide how they should work. However, this does not give\n you unlimited power and knowledge. These people are still specialists \nand they still know a lot more about their work than you do. Not \nlistening to their ideas, suggestions and opinions would be a huge \nmistake. Dismissing what they say just because you are the boss is the \nworst thing you could do, and probably one of the most damaging things \nfor the company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Not implementing<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are polite enough to listen to what your employees have to say, but never bother to look into their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.glasstoptableshop.com\/index.php\/2015\/12\/20\/bringing-your-interior-design-business-to-the-next-level-with-these-marketing-tips\/\">ideas and suggestions<\/a>,  you are again making a big mistake. If you create a precedent of  listening to the people working for you, promising you will do your best  to try and change things and in the end do absolutely nothing, you will  certainly lose the trust of your employees. More than that, they might  not come to you with ideas and suggestions a second time. This means  that you might lose some great ideas and even revenue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Not appreciating their work<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Regardless of their line of work, employees need to feel appreciated \nand their work needs to be valued. Everyone, from sales agents, to \nmechanics and cleaning crew needs to be given credit for their work and \nneeds to be praised when it is the case. Minimizing their efforts and \ndismissing their achievements is definitely not the way to go. It is a \ngood thing that you want your employees to have excellent results and \nthat you always push them to improve themselves and improve their work. \nHowever, acting like their efforts have not risen to your expectations \nmight lead them to believe that you are hard to please and that their \nwork will never be good enough for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bottom line is that there are plenty of things that can go wrong \nin a company. This is exactly why you should always know if or when you \nare doing something wrong managing your business.
